Some people feel comfortable from the first meeting for no particular reason; with others, nothing is wrong and yet the conversation keeps missing. BIO-ARC's synergy matching compares two codes and shows the grain of that relationship across five grades. With 16 types, the pairings come to 16 × 16 — 256 in all.
This article explains the rules that actually decide the grade, and how to take the result.
The five grades of synergy matching
- Perfect Arc: "Incomplete alone, invincible together." A complementary pair who fill each other's empty spaces.
- Soul Mate: "A dense forest of trees with the same grain." Similar values make it an easy relationship.
- Dynamic Duo: "Locomotives with different natures but the same destination." You bump into each other often, but you are efficient working together.
- Mirroring: "Mirror therapy — seeing your own flaws in someone else." So alike that you see each other's weaknesses too.
- Blocking: "Distinct as oil and water." The grammar of your lives differs, so understanding each other takes real effort.
The rules that decide the grade
A Perfect Arc is a pair with one letter the same and three opposite. The instinct toward risk (S/H) matches, while information processing (L/R), energy expression (F/W), and value (E/A) are all opposite. The Iron Fortress (LSFE) and the Lake of Empathy (RSWA), for instance, are both shield types (S), so their basic stance toward life is the same. On top of that, RSWA's intuition, listening, and meaning-first outlook fill in for LSFE's logic, bluntness, and result-first outlook. Every one of the 16 types has exactly one Perfect Arc partner under this rule.
Identical codes are Mirroring. The same type talks easily at first, but you also end up seeing in the other person the parts of yourself you dislike.
Soul Mate and Blocking are set in advance in each type's matching table. Soul mates are mostly close types differing on only one or two axes; blocking pairs mostly differ on three or four.
Every other combination is calculated from the number of shared letters. For pairings not in the table, two or more matching letters in the same position makes a Dynamic Duo; fewer than that is classified as Mirroring.
How to read the score
The result screen shows a score alongside the grade. That score is a reference number that shifts slightly within a grade according to things like the count of shared letters. It is not a statistical prediction of your actual relationship, so there is no need to read much into the gap between 90 and 85.
If your compatibility came out low
A Blocking or Mirroring result is no reason to be disappointed. A compatibility grade only indicates how much energy it takes for two people to tune themselves to each other; it does not decide whether the relationship succeeds or fails. Knowing which axis differs actually tells you in advance where the friction will start.
- If L/R differs: one of you may be talking about evidence while the other talks about feeling.
- If S/H differs: opinions split easily in front of money, career moves, and new challenges.
- If F/W differs: you resolve conflict at different speeds, so one feels stifled while the other feels pushed.
- If E/A differs: your standard for "well done" differs, so praise and rewards keep missing the mark.
💡 How to use it: when you look at a matching result, check "which axis is different for us?" before you look at the score. Once you know the differing axis, you can translate the other person's behaviour instead of misreading it.
